  • This year, CNLC brought together 2,300+ high school students from across Canada. The scale alone is incredible, but what stood out most was the level of thought and confidence in the room. The teams didn’t just present ideas — they broke down customer segments, made clear targeting choices, and built thoughtful value propositions. Under tight timelines, they delivered structured, well-reasoned marketing strategies that honestly rival what you see at much later stages. It’s encouraging to see spaces like CNLC giving students the opportunity to think this way so early.

  • Seeing how each team approached the same problem in completely different ways, whether through a website or an app, was genuinely impressive. It reminded me why I'm passionate about software development, and reinforced how much value comes from blending technical skills with real-world problem solving. Being on the other side of the judging panel also gave me a new perspective on how to present technical work clearly and confidently, a lesson I'll carry forward in my own projects and career.

  • I watched 2,300+ students, some as young as Grade 10, navigate the kind of business complexity most people don't touch until halfway through a university degree. I was honestly startled by two students who presented multiple business models I didn't even learn until my second year in the BBA program. They didn't just recite definitions; they understood how to apply those frameworks to a high pressure case scenario.

  • As a judge for the business plan presentation category I was able to listen to many bright business plans from students where they provided a profile for the business, industry analysis, marketing plans, details on operations, long-term development plans, financials and much more. Through the experience of being on the other side of the table and evaluating these students I have learned even more about what makes an impactful & memorable presentation.
